Robofest World Championship 2019 & Odyssey of the Mind 2019
For the purpose of inspiring students to reach their greatest potential, Buddhist Wong Wan Tin College provide opportunities to students to take part in extra-curricular activities and competitions in different domains. Over the years, their students have represent Hong Kong to U.S to participate in the world competition. However, most of the students are come from low-income families, the costs of participating the competitions in U.S were imposed their family burdens. In light of this, Ten Percent Donation Scheme Foundation donated HK$50,000 to support the cost of their competition.
We hope the students could realize their potential with this opportunity, able to meet people from all over the world, broaden their horizons and stimulate their interest in STEM. Also, apply the knowledge and skills on their studies or work, and contribute to the society in the future. Lastly, they won the First Runner-up Prize (Advanced Group) and the People Choice Award in the “Robofest 2019 World Championship”, and the Second Runner-up Prize in the “Odyssey of the Mind 2019”, which bringing the honor to Hong Kong.
In addition, the school organized a sharing session to express its gratitude to us, and we invited some children of “After-school Program” to join the sharing. We hopes to share the competition and experience through the participants, so that the children can broaden their knowledge and enrich their learning experience.
